Búzios
With a privileged location a little more than 170 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro, Armação dos Búzios, or only Buzios, is situated on a peninsula with an area of 96sq.km/37sq.mi 191km/119mi east of Rio de Janeiro, has been an independent commune since September 1991. It has grown out of a fishing village which was "discovered" in the 1960s by Brigitte Bardot and other representatives of the international jet set and is now one of the most fashionable and most charming bathing resorts in the country, with elegant shops and a well developed tourist infrastructure. Its 23 beaches and 18 islands attract visitors from all over the world. In Búzios the tourist finds various leisure options that go beyond the beaches and natural beauty. A large variety of good restaurants, bars and night clubs guarantee the fun on Rua das Pedras and on Orla Bardot, main points of the city, located a few meters from the hotels.
